A pre-signed transaction is a blockchain transaction that is authorized (signed) in advance and held until a defined trigger broadcasts it to the network. Because the authorization already exists, the transaction can execute without any signing action, or key access, at the moment it is needed.
Pre-signed transactions are the mechanism behind keyless recovery: they let assets move to safety even when the operator cannot, or should not, sign in real time.
The "continuously updated" step is what makes pre-signed transactions viable for recovery in production. A single static pre-signed transaction goes stale the moment balances or nonces change. Maintaining a live, valid transaction at all times is the hard part, and it is what Circuit Security's Automatic Asset Extraction automates.
Signing is the point in an asset's lifecycle that requires key access and human availability. It is also the point that fails under attack or loss. By moving the signing step to a controlled moment in advance, pre-signed transactions decouple recovery from the availability of keys and people at the time of an incident.
It is a blockchain transaction that is signed in advance and stored until a defined trigger broadcasts it, so it can execute without key access at the moment of use.
On-chain state changes over time. Balances move and nonces increment, which invalidates a static transaction. Continuous updating keeps a valid, broadcastable recovery transaction available at all times.
AAE maintains continuously updated pre-signed transactions that sweep assets to pre-approved vaults on a defined trigger, enabling recovery without access to private keys.

An MPC wallet uses multi-party computation to split a private key into shares, so no single location holds a complete key. It is access control, not recovery.
In digital asset operations, RTO is how fast you must regain control after a failure and RPO is how much recoverable state you can afford to lose.
Keyless recovery is the ability to move or reclaim digital assets without access to their private keys or seed phrases, using recovery paths established in advance.

We believe asset recoverability is table stakes for the next era of digital assets.
